My Educational Journey.

From the Austrian Alps to the Plains of West Texas.

Born and raised in rural Upper Austria I moved to the Austrian capital Vienna in 2008 after graduating from my high school Bundesgymnasium Braunau am Inn to start my studies in Slavic Languages and one year later also Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna.

Go West, Young Woman.

In 2017 I fulfilled a dream of mine and made the life-altering decision to move to Texas, teach German, and pursue a graduate degree in German Studies at Texas Tech University.

While completing my MA program, I added the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Administration to my degree plan and fell in love with the field of Higher Education.

I started my PhD in Higher Education Research in the tumultuous fall of 2020 and am now completing my dissertation examining the experiences of women international students seeking to enter the U.S. academic job market upon graduation from U.S. doctoral programs.

Having had the privilege of studying abroad and benefitting from both European and U.S. higher education has fueled in me the desire to share the benefits of a global perspective with others. International higher education is not only my passion, it is a crucial part of who I am.
